You will receive an email from Stripe asking you to confirm you tax information and update your delivery preferences.
The subject line reads ‘Action required to receive your [Platform_Name] 2022 tax form.’ The following image displays the content of the email:
After you click the Get Started button in Stripe’s email to connected accounts, you'll be taken to this screen. If you are already logged-in to your Stripe Express account, you'll proceed to the next screen. This step is only needed if you don’t have a Stripe Express account already.
If you are an Express or Custom connected account user and are logged in to your Stripe Express accounts, already have a Stripe Express account, or have proceeded from the login screen, you will be asked for a two-factor authentication (2FA) code sent to the phone number you have on file for your account, or the one you just entered.
After 2FA is complete, Stripe will provide you with prompts to verify your identity. These are details that should be associated with your connected account. This step is only required for accounts that haven’t already onboarded to Stripe Express, typically Custom accounts. If, after a few attempts, you are unable to enter details that match your account, you’ll be prompted to check with Famly to confirm your details. The error message reads ‘One of the fields didn’t match the information we received from [Platform_Name]. You can try again, or check that your information with [Platform_Name] is up to date.’
After your details are verified, you'll be taken to the Tax forms page in Stripe Express where you can confirm your tax information you have on file for your account.
After the tax information is confirmed, Stripe prompts connected accounts to provide their consent for e-delivery.
You will now receive an email from Stripe to view your tax form electronically. The subject line reads ‘Your [Platform_Name] 1099 tax form is ready.’ The following image displays the content of the email:
After you agree to the e-delivery terms, you can download your form.
