Choosing which posts trigger your automation

Decide whether your DM automation responds to comments on every post, or only on one specific post. Here is when to use each, and how to set it.

When you set up a Comment to DM automation, you choose which of your posts it watches. You have two options:

  • All posts — every comment on any post can trigger a DM. Best for an always on welcome or a standing offer you are happy to send across your whole feed.

  • Specific posts — only comments on the posts you pick will trigger a DM. Best for a single campaign, launch or giveaway where the DM only makes sense for that piece of content.

To choose a specific post, select Specific posts and pick the post from the grid. You can load more posts if you do not see it straight away.

Tip - If you run several different offers, create one automation per post rather than one automation for everything. It keeps each message relevant and your results easy to read.
