Overview

Trough sensors provide insights into water trends and consumption patterns. The graph has two lines:

  • The blue line is the average water level in a period

  • The red line is the minimum water level during that same period

Reading the graph

High Consumption

The minimum level and average level are low. This may mean that supply isn’t keeping up with demand.

Stable / low consumption

The average and minimum level are similar or unchanged. Indicating little or no consumption.

Normal Consumption

The minimum level dropped but the higher average level shows that the trough level is recovering well.

How it works

  • The Wireless Trough Sensor sends level measurements to the Monitor every 10 minutes.

  • If there is movement in the water level of the tank, the Monitor will transmit more frequently to ensure you have real-time updates of your tank which will trigger alerts.

  • If there is no movement in your tank level the minimum data transmission time is 5hrs for Satellite and 2hrs for Cellular.

  • The Monitor uses these measurements and calculates the average and minimum water level in the trough between each data capture period.
