Overview

Farmbot's new Satellite Cameras are your eyes out in the field when you need to take a photo to check on anything from livestock to infrastructure. See here for more info about Farmbot's Satellite Camera

When you need to regularly snap a shot, we've introduced scheduling a photo.

Before you start

It's important to be conscious of your camera's data use when scheduling a photo. We recommend setting the quality of the photo based on how frequently you wish to take a photo. In your yearly subscription you can take around:

  • 258 Low-Quality photos

  • 183 Standard-Quality photos

  • 128 High-Quality photos

If you wish to take more than this within the year, you can purchase more photos by contacting our Customer Service team via service@farmbot.com.au or 02 9901 4798

How to schedule a photo

  1. Click into your camera via the Map View or Nav Bar

  2. Within the camera details, you'll see the Camera Controls

  3. Select the Zoom, Quality and Colour settings for your scheduled photo

    1. Remember: if you wish to take lots of photos, we recommend selecting the Low-Quality setting

  4. Once you've chosen the photo settings, click the 'Schedule' button

  5. Now select the time and days you'd like to schedule the photo

    1. For example, you may choose the days you do not do your water run

  6. Then click the "Schedule Photo" button

  7. Review your new scheduled photo. If any others have already been scheduled, you'll also see them listed here

  8. You can quickly see how many have been scheduled at the bottom of the Camera Controls next to the "View Schedule" button

    1. For example, you can see only ( 1 ) has been scheduled on this camera

Why can't schedule a photo?

If the "Schedule Photo" button is disabled like below, this means that you already have a photo scheduled for the same time. You may want to delete the existing scheduled photo or change the timing.

Note: due to satellite transmission periods, a photo can take between 5-15 minutes to send back. Make sure not to schedule photos too close together to ensure they are taken.

How to stop a scheduled photo

  1. Click the "View Schedule" button at the bottom of the Camera Controls

  2. Click the bin icon next to the scheduled photo you want to stop
