How to Replace the Solar Battery in your Farmbot Monitor - Instructions

Please read the entire instructions before starting. Failure to do so may result in damage to the monitor, the battery pack, and/or the probe.


Parts and Tools

  • Replacement Battery Pack

  • Drill

  • Drill Driver (8mm Socket Head or Phillips Head)

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver

Instructions

  1. Climb onto the tank top and turn off the monitor by pushing the switch away from the solar panel.

  2. Remove all the screws securing the monitor feet.

  3. Place the monitor upside down on a flat, stable location. Leave the probe in the tank.

  4. Use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screws from the battery compartment lid. See pictures below.

  5. Carefully lift out the battery pack and disconnect it by depressing the side latch and pulling each side of the battery connector with both hands. Do not use excessive force.

  6. Plug in the replacement battery pack and place it in the battery compartment in the same position as the original. Tuck the wires and connector to the side of the battery.

  7. Attach the battery compartment lid by partially screwing in all 4 screws to align the lid before completely tightening them.

  8. Drive the screws back into each of its feet.

  9. Switch on the monitor by pushing the switch towards the solar panel.

  10. The replacement is now complete, please dispose of the old battery pack into a battery recycling bin.
