Overview

Once you've installed your new Remote Pump Control (using the installation guide for Remote Switch or Remote Powerpoint), log into MyFarmbot and follow the below steps to configure your pump and automation settings.

👀 Watch: This webinar to understand how Pump Control works in MyFarmbot.

How to set up Pump Control

1. Log into MyFarmbot

After logging in, you will land into the Map View. In the navigation menu on the left hand side, click into 'Pump Controls'

2. Choose your pump to set up

You'll see your newly installed pump(s) in the 'To Set up' section at the top of the screen. Click into the one you want to set up.

3. Updating the Pump Settings

Rename your pump and add an optional description. Click Next

4. Choosing a Destination Tank and/or Source Tank to display on the graph

Choose water tanks you’d like to display next to your pump controller and then set your pumps to automate of those tanks.

⭐️ Pump Control can now automate off both Destination and Source Tanks.

⚠️ Note: This is optional if you want to keep the Pump Control in Manual Mode. If this is the case, you can scroll down and choose 'Skip' and you're set up is complete.

6. Automation Mode

If you wish to have your Monitor in Automation Mode, select 'Auto' button below the diagram and enter the 'Start' and 'Stop' level of your tank you wish to turn your pump on and off at.

For Source Tanks, the start level will usually be lower and the stop level will be higher.

Pump Operating Time

You can set your pump to only operate between a certain time period on a daily basis.

This may be useful for the following:

  1. From 10 pm and 7am so it only runs during off-peak electricity

  2. From 8 pm and 4 pm each day so the solar pump is only running during the day

The Pump Operating Time is a window of time the pump will automatically turn on, however, it is still based on the tank's level. I.e. the pump will not turn on during that time if the Destination Tank does not drop below the 'Start' level and/or the Source Tank hasn't reached the required 'Start' level.

⚠️ Note: the Pump Operating Time is not a timer. Farmbot's Pump Control is designed to turn the pump on precisely as the tank needs it rather than running for an arbitrary amount of time.
