How to Set-up and Understand Pump Operating Time

How to set up a Pump Operating Time

Written by Jen Duff

Overview

Pump Operating Time lets you set a daily time window when your pump is allowed to run.

Once enabled, the pump will only run within this time period.

You might use this to:

  • Run your pump between 10 pm and 7 am to take advantage of off-peak electricity

  • Run your pump between 8 am and 4 pm to align with solar power

The pump will still only run when your Start conditions are met (based on your selected source or destination β€” tank or dam).

⚠️ Note: the Pump Operating Time is not a timer. Farmbot's Pump Control is designed to turn the pump on precisely as the tank or dam needs it rather than running for an arbitrary amount of time.

You can now set a schedule to run once a day by setting a 'Start Time' and 'Stop Time' as shown below. Please note first a source/destination (e.g. a tank or dam) must be selected, automation enabled and Start/Stop water levels set before the Pump Operating Time will be made available for editing.

Alternatively you can still reach out to Customer Support on service@farmbot.com.au or 02 9901 4798 and the team can configure this for you on your behalf immediately.
