Welcome to our Farmbot Security setup guide! Now that you've successfully installed your Farmbot Security hardware, this article will help you set up your security camera onto the platform. You can then start watching live-streams on your device and managing other camera features — let's get started!

Jump to a section of the guide

See an overview list of security cameras

Select 'Farmbot Security' either under the desktop Menu Bar or under Sensors on mobile, you will then be able to view the list of security cameras added to your Enterprise.

Here you can see your security camera name, its online status and the latest video stream preview and timestamp.

Click on an individual camera to set it up.

Set up your security camera - including Smart Motion Detection*

In settings you'll be able to rename your security camera, add GPS coordinates so it shows up on Map View and choose whether you want to turn on Smart Motion Detection alerts to let alert you to passing vehicles and people.

Naming - Rename the security camera so you're able to easily identify it

GPS Coordinates - Add latitude and longitude coordinates so the camera appears on your Map (you can find your coordinates using online map services)

Alerts - Enable Smart Motion Detection for People and Vehicles and receive alerts

Setting up Smart Motion Detection

Before you can enable this, MyFarmbot will check the security camera's firmware to see if your device supports Smart Motion Detection.

👆If the feature isn't detected, try refreshing the page. If that doesn't work it may be that your device does not support this feature.

👆Please note although you may receive a notification for a Smart Alert the camera recording itself may still be in progress. If this is the case the recording related to the alert will not appear in the recordings list until the recording ends.

To enable People and/or Vehicle Detection, click on the toggle till it switches to the right and is highlighted in blue.

When a person or vehicle is detected, MyFarmbot will send a text or email (depending on your notification preferences) with a link to view the event.

*This feature is only available for security cameras that support Smart Motion Detection.
