Receiving timely alerts when your troughs have low levels or are overflowing can have significant impact to your operations. This guide explains how to set up alerts for your trough direct and how they work.

Viewing your notifications

Trough Direct alerts appear on the Notifications page in MyFarmbot. You can also receive alerts via SMS or email, simply enable them via Profile Settings. Each alert notification links to the relevant Trough Direct that triggered the alert.

How to acknowledge your alert notifications

  1. Go to the Notifications page, you'll land on 'New Notifications'.

  2. Click 'Acknowledge' on the notification.

  3. The notification will move into the 'All' list.

Setting up your alert notifications

Trough Direct automatically detects the maximum height of your trough (making setup even faster) so you can easily select an alert threshold based on percentage thresholds calculated off the maximum height detected.

ℹ️ Note: You may see your Trough Direct continuously adjust for the maximum observed water level if your trough levels fluctuate from day to day.

Types of alerts

Overflow (Warning)

This tells you when your trough may be overflowing due to excess water and can help reduce water waste. You'll need to enter a centimetre value as you cannot set a percentage level of more than 100%.

Trough Low (Warning) and (Critical)

These alerts let you know when the trough water level is getting low. Select a percentage level for warning and critical depending on your individual setup.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select the Alerts tab

  3. Fill in the thresholds for Overflow and Trough Low

  4. Select the team members who you want to receive alerts for

  5. Click Save
