Adding medicine stock items on the FarmWizard website
The meat and milk withdrawal periods should be first obtained from the drug manufacturer's literature so that you have this information readily to hand.
Note: Care should be taken when setting the Units of the Quantity Purchased as the system cannot accept decimal points e.g. 2.5 litres should be entered as 2500 mls
To add a new medicine stock item:
Go to Herd Manager and click on Add Vet Medicine under the Vet Centre sub menu
A data form will display for the details of the new stock item. The mandatory data items (marked with an asterisk) are:
Batch Number
Name
Supplier
Purchase Date (defaults to "today")
Expiry Date (defaults to "today")
Entering the Cost is optionalClick Add Batch to save the new medicine stock item. The new stock item will display in the drop down list of medicines within the animal treatment screens
Entering medicine purchases via the FarmWizard App
First, you may need to select the "Add Medicine" event to the Quick Links screen on your mobile device.
Some medicine packaging will display a square QR Code, which contains the medicine Batch Number and the Expiry Date. The FarmWizard App is able to scan this code using your mobile device's camera.
Tap on the "Add Medicine" event
If the medicine packaging has a QR Code, tap on the "barcode" icon. You will now be able to scan the code using your device's camera. Otherwise you will need to manually enter the Batch Number
If the medicine is one that you have used before, select it's Name from the drop-down list. If you are adding a new medicine name, select
"Other, enter value >" and enter the Name of the medicine into the text box belowComplete the remaining data fields. If you scanned a QR code, the Expiry Date will have been filled in for you
When you have completed data entry form, tap "Save Medicine"
When you have an Internet connection, synchronise the App to transfer the stock item to your FarmWizard cloud account
