Adding dry cow medicine stocks
You must first record your dry cow medicines and tubes by adding stock items via Herd Manager > Vet Centre > Add Vet Medicine
For the dry cow medicine stocks to display on the Dry Off event page, you must select the Medicine Type as "Dry Cow Tube" when entering the stock item in the Vet Centre
Recording Dry Off treatments
There are two methods of recording dry cow treatments:
Record a "Dry Off" breeding event. Use this method if you only want to use one type of dry cow treatment
Record a medicine treatment. Use this method if you need to use multiple medicines for dry cow therapy
Record a dry cow treatment with the "Dry Off" breed event
The Dry Off screens accessed via the Herd List and Batch Manager provide a drop down list of dry cow tubes. Once you have entered the details for the dry off breed event, select the required stock item from the drop-down list with the number of tubes used.
When you save the dry off event, the treatment will be recorded and the cow will be moved to the "Dry" breed status.
Record a medicine treatment
To enter more than one type of dry cow treatment, go to Herd Manager > Enter Data > Add Treatment. This will enable you to define two different treatments on the first screen.
If you want to record a dry off breed event to move the cow to the "Dried Off" breed status, you must select the Treatment Reason as "Dry Off".
If you need to record more than two different dry cow medicines, complete the details of the first two and then click "Add Entry & Record Another"
