Often a make or break for Amazon sellers is keeping track of refunded sales. Missing stock can be costly so SKUify simplify tracking it.

Amazon will notify a seller when an item has been returned and the buyer reimbursed, however tracking it after that is largely down to the seller.

In the Sales tab, which is where sellers can already easily spot any returned orders, click on the Refunds button. Use the flag icons in the top right to select the marketplace – or all marketplaces – to display.

The details of each item due to have, or that have had refunds, and their status will show in the tab. Search for a specific listing in the results with the search bar at the top of the window, or widen the search dates using the calendar icon next to the search bar.

The default period is the previous month’s activity.

Aside from the details of the initial sale, the Refund tab includes the cost incurred by the seller for each refund. Hover over the amount shown in red in the Refund Cost column and a popup showing the breakdown of what is due back to the seller, and what Amazon retain from the fees, will open.

Most importantly, SKUify track the current status of the returned item. With reliance on the buyer returning an item at their convenience, and Amazon’s internal tracking processes, it can vary how long it takes to track a returned item’s status. As soon as Amazon have labelled it’s status it will show on SKUify.

In the example above, the unit has been returned to inventory after Amazon have checked its condition and given it the thumbs-up. SKUify pulls the codes for the type of return from Amazon – in this case the customer marked it as unwanted.

Use the Amazon links in Additional Info to open the Amazon listing or to show the order detail in Seller Central, and record any necessary notes for future reference in the Notes popup.

Any outstanding returns that require action to be taken will also be shown in the Reconciliation tab.

The Refunds page is also where to see an overview of account refunds. Select Report from the top of the screen to see the past month’s refunds summary.

To change the date range click on the date range in the popup, and to download the report as a pdf file use the corresponding button above it.
