The Cost of Goods are imported automatically when SKUify is linked to an Amazon seller account, and can be imported if in csv or xlsx file format, but can also be entered manually to individual listings’.

Find the SKU that the COGs needs changing in the Inventory tab, hover over it and click on the pen icon that appears in the COG column.

This will open a popup with the costs that sellers might want to include in deal calculations. The more costs that are entered, the more accurate to the final profit and return on investment (ROI) the results will be.

The top section is for any purchase information for the product. Enter the price paid per unit for the product, where and when it was purchased – the Purchase Date is mandatory. The Quantity field will auto-populate from Amazon’s data.

Entering the retailer in Purchased From is a nice reference for when replenishing a product, but the Purchase Date will have an impact on the accuracy of the results. Unit cost can vary from purchase to purchase – retailers can change prices, voucher codes could be in play, loyalty programs are amongst the factors that can influence the price.

Entering the Purchase Date will mean SKUify can track the unit being sold when a sale is made, to ensure that the correct COGs are applied. For example:

This is why it is important for the Purchase Date to be entered. Once entered though, SKUify will do the rest.

If the product is to be sold in a bundle, then toggle Bundle on and the corresponding cost of goods will show in the COGs.

Enter the remaining costs associated with the product in the subsequent rows. In the example above, the seller has allocated 0.02 for packaging (poly bags, tape, boxes etc.), 0.53 per lb for shipping into Amazon and an additional flat Extra Fee of 0.50. SKUify will calculate the Inbound Shipping Cost based on the product weight data from Amazon.

SKUify has calculated the total and a break-even price at the bottom. Use the Undo or Clear buttons to correct the last or all entries, and Update to save the costs.

The cost of goods total will show in the COG column and be applied to results immediately.

To find SKUs in the inventory that are missing Cost of Goods information, toggle No COGs at the top of the page to on.

The cost of goods changes can also be made to SKUs that appear in the Sales tab, or in the Orders section on the Dashboard.
