Yes absolutely! You’ll need adequate travel insurance for your trip, and we recommend arranging it as soon as possible after booking. This is important because your cover can start protecting you before you travel too, for example if illness, injury or another unexpected circumstance means you’re unable to make the trip. The exact cover will depend on your policy.
Make sure your policy covers the full period you’ll be travelling and the area you’re visiting, or provides worldwide cover where appropriate. Health insurance alone isn’t sufficient, as you’ll also need suitable travel related cover including medical, cancellation and repatriation. If you have any existing medical conditions, make sure these are declared and covered by your insurer before you travel.
We can’t advise on which policy is right for you as insurance is very personal. We recommend shopping around, checking the cover carefully and not simply choosing the cheapest option. Trips longer than 21 days may not always be covered by an annual multi trip policy, so check with your insurer if you’re unsure.
