Botless Recording is available for Mac users (Windows coming soon!).

What is Desktop Botless Recording?

Botless allows you to capture your meetings directly from Fellow's desktop app for Mac, without a bot present on your call. You’ll still get an audio recording, transcript, AI notes, and all the other features you love about Fellow.

Botless recording works on any meeting platform (Slack huddles, Microsoft Teams, dialers, Google Meet, Zoom and more) and is perfect for capturing impromptu meetings with just one click.

Benefits of Botless Recording

  • Record meetings without a bot joining

  • Works on any meeting platform

  • Capture impromptu meetings in one click

How to Enable

  1. Download and install the Fellow desktop app for Mac by navigating to Profile > User Settings > Apps and Integrations

  2. When prompted, allow microphone access (used to capture your audio) and screen recording access (used to capture audio of other participants on the call)

  3. Botless recording will appear as an option in your recording menu.

How to Use

For Scheduled Meetings

  1. Open the meeting from your calendar in Fellow

  2. Select Record as Botless instead of record as Bot

  3. You will see a waveform indicating that your audio and other meeting participant's audio is being captured.

  4. Your botless recording will be available from the meeting note you started it from.

For Impromptu Meetings

  1. When Fellow detects microphone activity, you’ll see a Meeting Detected notification

  2. Click to start a botless recording

  3. A new note will be created that is only accessible to you which you can choose to share with other meeting participants.

  4. You will see a waveform indicating that your audio and other meeting participant's audio is being captured.

Recording Controls

  • Pause/Resume recording at any time

  • Stop when the meeting ends

  • Mute in the Fellow recording: Privately pause your mic from being captured. For example so you can have a quick side chat with your family member without it appearing in the recording or the transcript.

Recording Disclosure

Users internal to your organization will see in Fellow an indication that the meeting is being recorded. It's your responsibility to provide recording disclosure in accordance with local laws and regulations of meeting participants.

Sharing Your Botless Recordings

By default, a recap email is not sent for botless recordings. To automatically share the recap you can change your note series settings by navigating to the more menu > automations > Send Recap.

Your Feedback

We’re actively improving botless recording and your feedback will help shape this feature. You can share your feedback by contacting Fellow Support in the chat in the lower right hand corner or email support@fellow.co.
