Yes. Alongside the 60-day cookie, Fernwayer uses device fingerprinting as a backup — so your referrals still have a good chance of being counted even if a cookie is cleared, blocked, or expired.
How it works
Cookies aren't always reliable. People clear them, browsers block them, and some devices don't keep them well. Device fingerprinting fills that gap.
It works by combining a handful of ordinary, non-personal signals from a visitor's browser and device — things like browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, timezone, and language. Together these form a distinctive-enough signature to recognize the same visitor when they come back, without relying on a stored cookie. No personally identifiable information is collected in the process.
What this means for you
It means more of your referrals get tracked through to a completed booking. If a reader clicks your link but their cookie doesn't survive the days between clicking and booking, fingerprinting gives Fernwayer a second way to connect that booking back to you.
It works alongside the 60-day cookie, not instead of it — two methods, both working to make sure your referrals are credited.
