When does a booking become commissionable?

FOR AFFILIATES: The point at which a booking actually earns you commission.

A booking earns you commission only after the traveler has completed their Experience — not when they book, and not when they pay.

Why completion, not booking

Fernwayer Experiences are often booked well in advance, and plans change. A traveler might book, then cancel or reschedule before the day arrives.

Commission is tied to the Experience actually happening, so that what you earn reflects real, completed bookings.

So there are two moments to keep in mind:

  • The booking — your referral is recorded, and the potential commission is tracked against your account.

  • The completed Experience — once the traveler has enjoyed their Experience, the commission is confirmed and becomes yours.

This means there can be a gap between when your reader books and when you actually earn — sometimes weeks, if they've booked ahead. It's worth knowing, so the timing doesn't take you by surprise.

The next collection, About Getting Paid, covers what happens from there — how commission is confirmed, and when it's paid out.
