Windows
Is there a link for the FIFINE AM8T microphone?
Sorry no. Because all FIFINE USB microphones use a universal driver built into Windows and Mac, and even Linux, and Chromebook systems. So there is no specific driver to download. If the driver fails to trigger the automatic installation on Windows, just follow the steps below to update and reinstall the driver. For the other system users, please check out the corresponding tabs.
My Windows is not recognizing FIFINE AM8T
At this point, there’s the same method for the FIFINE USB microphone. So let’s check it out on the radio below from 0:21 to 3:16.
✔️First, you should check if the USB PnP audio device is recognized:
Right-click the “speaker” icon in the lower right corner of your computer. Go to "Sound", then choose "Recording." You can check if the USB PnP audio device shows out and it is the default device.
⚠️If the USB Device is not recognized or no USB PnP Audio Device appears in the sound settings, try to follow these steps:
Test the mic on another computer and check if the USB PNP audio device appears.
No other PC available? Go to “Start Menu” < search “Control Panel” < “Device Manager” < “Sound, voice, and game controllers” < check if the “USB PNP Audio Device” is in the list.
If a USB PNP audio device/ unknown USB device appears, right-click it and choose "Update driver" software and “Browse my computer for driver software”. Then click “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”.
Wait for a while, and your PC will have updated its software.
Go back to “Sound, video and game controllers” < right click “USB PNP audio Device” < “Uninstall”. So your microphone driver will be removed.
Now you can restart your computer and plug the mic into another USB port. At that time, your PC will recognize your mic again.
For the latest Windows users, in order to access the sound setting, please right-click the speaker icon at the bottom right-choose "Sound", click "Sound Control Panel" at the upper right of the pop-up window.
It didn't work even after reinstallation and update of the driver.
Please download the application from the link below to clean up the USB registry of your PC. The code for unzipping the file is "fifine".
Plug the FIFINE AM8T microphone into your computer, uninstall the "Unknown USB Device" under the Device Manager, then unplug the microphone. Skip to the second step if there's no "Unknown USB Device".
Stay on the Device Manager, double-click the app to run. Select “Clean”. Finally, restart the computer and replug the mic into another USB port.
I can't hear any sound from my Windows when I speak, even though the AM8T is recognized.
First, check if the level meter of "fifine chat" under "Recording" in the "Sound Setting" moves when you speak to the AM8T. If it's moving, you can check out the output device under "Playback".
Output the audio from AM8T (monitoring the mic):
It means that there's no connection between your headphones with the PC. You can plug the headphone into the 3.5mm jack of the mic. Under "Playback Devices", choose "fifine chat" as the default output. Also, find the "Level" tab and adjust the volume level to make sure the mic monitoring isn't muted.
Output the audio from the aux or built-in speaker of the computer:
Plug the headphone into the 3.5mm jack of the mic, then choose "FIFINE Microphone" as the default output under system sound and software settings.
Output the audio from the USB port of the computer
Plug a pair of headphones into the computer. Then you go into the "Playback" of "Sound Control Panel" setting and choose the internal speaker as the output device.
After upgrading to Win 10, the AM8T doesn't work.
If the level meter doesn't move, please check if the microphone gain knob at the bottom is turned up.
Troubleshoot if the level meter does NOT move by following the video below (from 5:53 to 6:52). You can take a quick browse here:
Choose “Settings” - “Privacy” - “Microphone.”
Click the “Change” button under the “Microphone access for this device is off.”
Choose “On” of the “Microphone for this device.”
Choose “On” of the “Allow apps to access your microphone.”
Choose the Apps that you want your mic to work on.
Finally, restart the computer.
For the latest Windows users, in order to access the sound setting, please right-click the speaker icon at the bottom right-choose "Sound", click "Sound Control Panel" at the upper right of the pop-up window.
Mac
Is there a link for this microphone driver?
Sorry no. Because all FIFINE USB microphones use a universal driver built into Windows and Mac, and even Linux, and Chromebook systems. So there is no specific driver to download.
My Mac is not recognizing the AM8T.
At this point, there’s the same method for the FIFINE USB microphone. So let’s check it out on the radio below from 6:53 to 8:16.
Check if the USB PNP audio device appears in the sound settings first: Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the screen. Choose "Sound" and click on "Input". Now you can see if the USB PnP audio device shows out.
No USB PNP audio device appears in the sound settings? Follow these steps:
Test the mic on another computer and check if the USB device appears.
No other computer available: unplug all the USB devices from your Mac and replug the mic from another USB port without using a USB hub.
Doesn’t work? Email us!
AM8T is recognized, but no sound on my Mac.
If the level meter moves when you speak to the mic, then make sure that you select the correct output device and turn up the output volume.
There are only two situations: one is that the headphone is plugged into the 3.5mm jack of the mic, then choose "Fifine Microphone" as the default output under system sound and software settings. The other is that you plug a pair of headphones into the computer, then choose the internal speaker as the output device.
Chromebook
Will the FIFINE AM8T mic work on a Chromebook?
Because of the variations of the Chrome OS system, we have only confirmed that the computer models and system versions below work.
Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2015) with OS Version: 67.0.3396.99;
Acer R11 with Version: 71;
Acer C720, Acer C740, Samsung Series 3, and Samsung Series 5 with OS Version: 72.0.3626.117.
Then download a Voice Recorder app from the Play Store, and you're good to go.
Mobile
How to use it with smartphones (Android and iPhone) or tablets (Android and iPad)?
It works when used with a proper USB adapter. But we recommend using it only with Windows and Mac computers, because you can't speak into the microphone and hear from the smartphone at the same time.
Android with a micro-USB port needs a micro-USB male to Type-A female adapter.
Android with a Type-C port needs a Type-C male to Type-A female adapter.
iPhone/iPad with a Lightning port needs a Lightning male to Type-A female adapter.
iPhone/iPad with a Type-C port needs a Type-C male to Type-A female adapter.
Highly recommend the adapter from the Apple store if you do want to use the mic for your Apple mobiles.
Game Console
How to use a wired/wireless headset along with the microphone on a PlayStation console?
Go to "Settings"-"Devices"-"Audio Devices"-uncheck the option of "Switch Output Device Automatically"-plug the microphone into the console while the headset into your controller-choose the correct input and output devices. The shortfall is that you have to do it whenever you use your PlayStation.
How to use this microphone with an Xbox?
⚠️The mic doesn't work with the Xbox console or controller directly. So we don't recommend using it with the Xbox. But there's a way to do so. You can get it to work, but the sound quality would become so bad that you would rather not do so.
Plug the mic into a computer-find a 3.5mm audio cable-plug one end into the headphone jack at the bottom of the K688, and the other end into your Xbox controller.
