Windows

Do I need a special microphone driver for K668?

Sorry no. Because all FIFINE USB microphones use a universal driver built into Windows and Mac, and even Linux, and Chromebook systems. So there is no specific driver to download. If the driver fails to trigger the automatic installation on Windows, just follow the steps below to update and reinstall the driver. For the other system users, please check out the corresponding tabs.

Windows can't recognize FIFINE K668

At this point, there’s the same method for the FIFINE USB microphone. So let’s check it out on the radio below from 0:21 to 3:16.

✔️First, you should check if the USB PnP audio device is recognized:

Right-click the “speaker” icon in the lower right corner of your computer. Go to "Sound", then choose "Recording." You can check if the USB PnP audio device shows out and it is the default device.

⚠️If the USB Device is not recognized or no USB PnP Audio Device appears in the sound settings, try to follow these steps:

  1. Test the mic on another computer and check if the USB PNP audio device appears.

  2. No other PC available? Go to “Start Menu” < search “Control Panel” < “Device Manager” < “Sound, voice, and game controllers” < check if the “USB PNP Audio Device” is in the list.

  3. If a USB PNP audio device/ unknown USB device appears, right-click it and choose "Update driver" software and “Browse my computer for driver software”. Then click “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”.

  4. Wait for a while, and your PC will have updated its software.

  5. Go back to “Sound, video and game controllers” < right click “USB PNP audio Device” < “Uninstall”. So your microphone driver will be removed.

  6. Now you can restart your computer and plug the mic into another USB port. At that time, your PC will recognize your mic again.

For the latest Windows users, in order to access the sound setting, please right-click the speaker icon at the bottom right-choose "Sound", click "Sound Control Panel" at the upper right of the pop-up window.

K668 didn't work after reinstallation and update of the driver.

  • Please download the application from the link below to clean up the USB registry of your PC. The code for unzipping the file is "fifine".

  • Plug the FIFINE K668 microphone into your computer, uninstall the "Unknown USB Device" under the Device Manager, then unplug the microphone. Skip to the second step if there's no "Unknown USB Device".

  • Stay on the Device Manager, double-click the app to run. Select “Clean”. Finally, restart the computer and replug the mic into another USB port.

It's recognized, but I didn't hear any sound coming out of my Windows when I spoke.

  1. Go to the “Sound” setting and choose “Recording”, check if the level meter of the microphone moves when you’re speaking. If there’s nothing has changed, restart your computer and replug your microphone into another USB port. If the level meter remains the same, please test this mic on another computer.

  2. If the level meter is moving when speaking, click the “Playback” device and make sure the headphone speaker you’re using is the default. Then, click on the speaker icon and confirm that the system is not muted.

  3. If you want to hear yourself via headphones, a live audio monitor will help up. Open the “Sound” setting and choose “Recording”. Right-click the USB PNP audio device. Choose “Properties” and click on “Listen”. Then, choose the box “Listen to this device” and apply it.

⚠️For the latest Windows users, to access the sound settings, please right-click the speaker icon at the bottom right-choose "Sound", and click "Sound Control Panel" at the upper right of the pop-up window.

After upgrading to Win 10, the K668 doesn't work.

Follow the detailed steps and troubleshoot if the level meter does NOT move by following the video below (from 7:09 to 8:07).

1️⃣Click “Start” - “Settings” - “Privacy” - “Microphone.”

2️⃣Find the “Microphone access for this device is off” option, click on the “Change” button, then turn on the function.

3️⃣Turn on the “Allow apps to access your microphone” and check if the apps you need to use are accessing your mic. If not, turn them on.

4️⃣Restart your computer.

The K668 works fine for about 10 minutes on Windows, but then it mutes!

1️⃣If it is a laptop, please plug in the laptop's power cord and restart your computer, or connect the mic to another USB port on your computer.

2️⃣If it still doesn’t work, it might be for the USB suspension settings. Follow the video below to disable the USB suspension settings. Take a quick look here:

  • Click “Control Panel”. You can search it in the search Box for Windows 10 or 11, and find it in the “Start Menu” in Windows. For Windows 8 users, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click "Search", and type "Control Panel".

  • Click “Category”, change the display to “Small icons”, and click “Power Options”.

  • Choose “Change Plan Setting” of the “Balanced”. Click Change advanced power settings. Find USB settings and disable both options.

  • Restart your PC.

Mac

Is there a link for this microphone driver?

Sorry no. Because all FIFINE USB microphones use a universal driver built into Windows and Mac, and even Linux, and Chromebook systems. So there is no specific driver to download.

My Mac is not recognizing the Fine K668 microphone

  • Plug your mic into another mic to check if it works.

  • Unplug all the other USB devices from the computer and replug the mic into another USB port.

  • Instead of using a USB hub, plug the mic into your computer directly.

You can follow the video from 9:19 to 9:45.

The FIFINE K668 mic is recognized, but no sound on my Mac.

If there is no USB PNP audio device appearing in the sound settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open the “Sound” settings, choose “Input”, and make sure the input volume has been turned up. Then, check if the lever meter moves when speaking to the mic.

  2. No thing change? Restart your computer and plug your mic into another USB port. Still no change? Test the mic on another computer.

  3. If the input lever meter moves when speaking to the mic, turn to “Output”. Make sure the headphone/speaker that you're using is the default.

  4. Click on the speaker icon at the top of the screen and confirm the system is not muted.

You can follow the video below from 9:52 to 11:38.

Chromebook

Will the FIFINE K668 mic work on a Chromebook?

Because of the variations of the Chrome OS system, we have only confirmed that the computer models and system versions below work.

Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2015) with OS Version: 67.0.3396.99;

Acer R11 with Version: 71;

Acer C720, Acer C740, Samsung Series 3, and Samsung Series 5 with OS Version: 72.0.3626.117.

Then download a Voice Recorder app from the Play Store, and you're good to go.

Mobile

How to use K668 with smartphones (Android and iPhone) or tablets (Android and iPad)?

It works when used with a proper USB adapter. But we recommend using it only with Windows and Mac computers, because you can't speak into the microphone and hear from the smartphone at the same time.

Android with a micro-USB port needs a micro-USB male to Type-A female adapter.

Android with a Type-C port needs a Type-C male to Type-A female adapter.

iPhone/iPad with a Lightning port needs a Lightning male to Type-A female adapter.

iPhone/iPad with a Type-C port needs a Type-C male to Type-A female adapter.

Highly recommend the adapter from the Apple store if you do want to use the mic for your Apple mobiles.

Game Console

How to use a wired/wireless headset along with K668 on a PlayStation console?

⚠️Go to "Settings"-"Devices"-"Audio Devices"-uncheck the option of "Switch Output Device Automatically"-plug the microphone into the console while the headset into your controller-choose the correct input and output devices. The shortfall is that you have to do it whenever you use your PlayStation.

How to use K668 with an Xbox?

⚠️The mic doesn't work with the Xbox console or controller directly. So we don't recommend using it with the Xbox. But there's a way to do so. You can get it to work, but the sound quality would become so bad that you would rather not do so.

Plug the mic into a computer-enabled the monitoring feature, find a 3.5mm audio cable-plug one end into the computer headphone jack, and the other end into your Xbox controller.
