Make sure your smartphone or tablet has a 3.5mm audio port.

  1. Plug the 3.5mm TRS connector into the 3.5mm audio output port of the receiver.

  2. Then plug the 3.5mm TRRS connector into the 3.5mm audio port of the device

Warm Tip: If you want to connect with an Android phone, please check if your phone requires OTG to supply power. And if the built-in recording software of your phone doesn't work, please download the "Open Camera."

Connect with iPhone or iPad (00:36-00:53)

A Lightning port is necessary.

  1. Plug the 3.5mm TRS connector into the 3.5mm audio output port of the receiver.

  2. Plug the 3.5mm TRRS connector into the 3.5mm audio port of the adapter.

  3. Then plug the lightning connector into the lightning port of the Device.

Connect with Camera (0:54-1:16)

  1. Clip the receiver onto the camera via a cold shoe connection.

  2. Plug the 3.5mm TRS connector into the 3.5mm audio port of the camera.

  3. Then plug the 3.5mm TRS connector into the 3.5mm audio output port of the receiver.

  4. Set the Camera's "Sound Recording Settings" to “Manual” and “Attenuator” to “Disable”.

Pairing transmitters(mics) and receiver (1:17-1:44)

The Microphones (transmitters) and the Receiver will automatically get paired after the first pairing.

You can also pair them manually:

  1. Press and hold the pairing button on the receiver or transmitter for 3 seconds to set them into pairing mode (the indicator will flash).

  2. When the indicators stay on(stop flashing), the transmitters and the receiver are ready.

Other functions (02:00-03:49)

  1. Adjust the volume: You can press the volume button on the receiver to adjust the mic’s volume. When sound recording is set to auto, the volume settings of the M9 will be overridden.

  2. Mute Function: You can press the mute button on the mic. When the light on the mic turns red, it’s muted.

  3. Mono/Stereo Modes Switch: Press the M/S switch button on the receiver to switch modes.

  4. Noise Cancelling: Press the noise-canceling button on the mic to block out the surrounding noise.

  5. Low power: When the power indicator on the mic flashes in red, the microphone is short of power. You can put them back into the charging case or keep recording while it's being charged by connecting a power bank to the microphone.

The receiver doesn't turn on

  1. Check if the adhesive tapes are peeled off from the bottom of the microphones and the receiver, so they can actually be charged.

  2. Put the receiver in the charging case for 0.5-1 hour, whether it can be turned on normally.

  3. Use a 5V USB power supply, like from your computer USB port, to connect to the Type-C port at the bottom of the receiver and charge for 0.5-1 hour directly

It doesn't seem to pair successfully. The mic doesn't work, and the light is flashing.

  • Turn on the mics and receiver to check if they have sufficient power.

  • Press and hold the pairing button on the receiver and mic for about 3 seconds to enter the pairing mode.

  • Then the indicator on the receiver/mic will flash quickly. If both the blue light of the mics and the white light of the receiver stay, they have paired successfully.

Note: the receiver and mic need to be in the pairing mode at the same time.

  • Use mics and receiver within the line-of-sight recording range: 50m(164ft) in the line of sight.

  • Check if it enables OTG when it's connected to the USB port on your phone.

It shows "No Device is Connected" even after the receiver is plugged into my device.

  1. Make sure the system pairs successfully by checking if the blue light on the mic is solid on. If not, follow the "It doesn't seem to pair successfully" question above to pair it up.

  2. It may take a few seconds for the App to recognize the device.

  3. Try to unplug and plug the receiver back into your device again.

How can I hook a Microphone for Android & iPhone with a Type-C port?

As long as your smartphone or even tablet has a Type-C port, you can use either the included TRS 3.5mm to Type-C or the NOT included Type-C to Type-C cables to connect it to the M9 wireless lavalier microphone. Detailed setup video below for your reference.

Take a quick browse of the video:

The first way: Connect them with the included TRS 3.5mm to Type-C

  1. Plug the TRS(3-pole) connector into the 3.5mm jack on the receiver.

  2. Then plug the Type-C connector into the Type-C port on the smartphone

Another way: Connect them with the NOT included Type-C to Type-C cables

  1. Plug the Type-C connector into the Type-C port under the receiver

  2. Plug another Type-C connector into the Type-C port on the smartphone

The wireless lav mics do not work with phones

  1. Ensure the device has enough power and the adhesive tapes are peeled off from the bottom of the mics and receiver.

  2. Ensure the system pairs successfully by checking if the blue light on the mic is solid on. If not, follow the "It doesn't seem to pair successfully" question above to pair it up.

  3. In order to play the recording, please unplug the receiver from the phone.
