What are tools?
Tools (formerly known as Design Apps) are designed to simplify your workflow. They allow you to build custom design machines with your own chosen attributes, which you can then share with anyone. With a tool, you can build a single workflow and generate infinite variations with ease.
Setting up your tool
You can turn any existing workflow into a tool. Add an Output node into your workflow and connect it to your end result.
The Tool tab will now be unlocked at the top of the canvas.
The attributes visible in your tool are generated from nodes that do not have an input (such as Prompt or Import Image nodes).
If you want to hide any of these attributes from the tool view, you can lock them:
How to lock/unlock: Click the three dots (...) in the top-right corner of the node.
How to check status: Look for the lock icon next to the three dots to easily see whether a node is currently locked or unlocked.
Creating and updating your tool
The first time you're ready to make your tool available, click Create tool.
A pop-up asks you to name your tool, add a description, and upload a thumbnail image.
You can tweak your workflow without interfering with their live tool. Once you're ready, click Update tool to push your changes to your users.
Sharing your tool
Click Share tool in the top-right corner.
The Share tool modal lets you invite people directly, copy a link, or jump back to the workflow. Set who can access it under Who can access: only invited people, anyone in your workspace, or anyone with the link.
Only the users you share it with will see it in tool mode. As the creator, you will always see it in editable mode.
Version Management
Each time you create or update your tool, Weave automatically saves a timestamped version (including the name, date, and time). You can see exactly which version you are currently using right next to the Update tool button.
Click on your current version's date to open a dropdown menu of all your past versions, then select any version to load it.
While you can't edit previous versions of your tool, you are free to view and share them at any time.
