If you are looking to send a test campaign to check and see if your pre-auth links are working properly, you have to create a duplicate campaign from the original campaign and send it to a Test group. You would not send a test campaign via the usual test feature because pre-auth links don't work like that anymore, due to GDPR regulations

Instead, you send this duplicate campaign to a Test group that you setup in your Figure account.

In Figure, under Groups, create a “Test” group, populate it with all the same wines going out in your official email release, put the same text into the welcome message as well. You have to make sure the Group allocation is Active and that the calendar dates are accurate to the current dates/time. Put whoever you want into that group, most likely your co-workers that will be testing/viewing the email along with you. You then have to Sync your Figure list with Campaign Monitor afterward to keep the Test group current.

Create a segment in Campaign Monitor inside the list “Customers (Sync with Figure - DO NOT DELETE)”. Define the rules based on a Group that “matches exactly” the word “Test”. After you save and preview this segment, the number of people you put into the Test group in Figure should match the segment in Campaign Monitor.

Still in Campaign Monitor, now go to the Campaigns page. The campaign that you are creating still has to be in the Drafts phase (it cannot be scheduled for release if you wish to duplicate it).

Hover your mouse over the name of the campaign and on the far right side you will see a trash can and a + symbol. Click the + symbol and that will duplicate the campaign. Add the word TEST in front of the campaign name so you know this is the test when it arrives to your inbox.

When defining the recipients, select only the “Test” group under the “Customers (Sync with Figure - DO NOT DELETE)” list. Send that duplicated test campaign to only that test group. When the people in that test group receive the campaign the pre-auth links you loaded into the purchase button will work.

Details on preauth links can be found on the Settings>Marketing page.
