Next Generation - Use the Advanced Filters panel

With the advanced filters, you can customise the fields that you'd like to be able to search on in any enquiry, record list or processing screens that use our Next Generation technology.

The Advanced Filter panel allows for more powerful searches and less mouse clicks for you to perform.

The most frequently used fields are already displayed in the panel, but you're able to change these to suit your needs the best.

Note: Some enquiries open with displaying the header part of a transaction and have an expand arrow that allows you to drill down to the detail part. The Header and the Detail sections have their own Action Panel. To access the actions for the Detail section, select the checkbox in front of the expanded detail line.

The steps below take you through the Customer Records screen, but you can follow the steps below for other Next Generation screens in Financials.

Add or remove fields from the Advanced Filter panel

  1. Click Debtors then click Customers.

  2. Click on the Funnel icon at the top right-hand side of the Customer Records screen.

    • Note: The orange number indicator indicates how many filters are already applied to the displayed list. There might already be a number as there could be default filters already applied. Just scroll down to see which default field has a value in it and remove it if necessary.

  3. On the Advanced Filter panel, you can see displayed default fields already.

  4. If you want to add or remove fields from the panel click the Configure Fields hyperlink at the top of the Advanced Filters panel.

  5. On Configure Fields, select the checkboxes on any fields that you want to add or remove the tick for fields you don't need on the screen.

  6. Click Update at the bottom of the screen panel to save your changes and refresh the Advanced Filters panel.

The removed fields or columns will not longer be displayed, and instead the screen will be updated with your selected fields or columns.

Note: You can reset the settings to default, to do this click Configure Fields and then click Reset at the bottom. For more information on how to use the Configure Fields and Columns, please refer to our configure columns article.
