Troubleshooting
Imports
My data is outdated
My data is outdated
Finstack tries to retrieve fresh data from your accountancy software every 3 hours. The status of the connection is shown in Sources, where you will also find the time of the latest import. Things that can go wrong:
The last import job was too long ago. Try to run the import again by pressing Start import.
The connection is unavailable. Try to press Reconnect or alternatively set up a new connection by following the steps after pressing Add source. Make sure that the account that you are connecting with has the right access permissions to the accountancy tool.
I want to exclude or include new entities (administrations)
I want to exclude or include new entities (administrations)
Finstack will attempt to retrieve all entities that it has access to. When Entities are missing, it is most likely the permissions are not set correctly on the side of the accountancy tool. Please check the Security Centre for Exact Online for example: it will list the entities that the connection of Finstack has access to.
The steps are:
In Exact, click your name in the top right corner and then click "My Exact Online". Go to the Security Center.
At the bottom, under "Permissions for my apps," click Finstack.
Scroll down and, under "Access to," click Manage Administrations.
Then, move the administration(s) that Finstack should be able to see to the right and click Save.

For a short time we will queue new imports to not overload the system. Your import will start shortly and new data will be retrieved.

Imports can take long. To make sure the system does not get overloaded, there is a maximum number of manual imports per day. This is next to the automated imports. Please reach out if you run into this ceiling often.
I want to stop a running import

Unfortunately it is not possible to stop a running import to prevent incomplete numbers.
Excel / CSV uploads
I need help with my Excel / CSV upload
I need help with my Excel / CSV upload
If connecting to an accounting source (ERP) directly is not an option at this time, financial numbers can be uploaded either through an Excel upload (trial balances) or CSV upload (transactions). Note that these uploads are required to be in a specific format for the system to understand, so please make use of the templates when available.

How are periods 0, 55 and 56 from Twinfield handled in Finstack?
How are periods 0, 55 and 56 from Twinfield handled in Finstack?
Twinfield uses the following special periods:
Period 0: opening balance
Period 55: prior-year / year-end adjustment entries
Period 56: year-end closing entries
These periods are not regular months, but our reporting model requires every transaction to belong to a calendar month. For that reason, we apply a fixed mapping. The mapping is as follows:
Period 0: will be processed in the last month of the previous year.
Period 55: will be processed in the last month of the current year.
Period 56: will be processed in the last month of the current year.
When closing the year, transactions will move from period 56 to 0. This means that in the last month of the year, these transactions will sum to zero and cancel each other out.
