Relations Overview

Find an overview of largest Suppliers and Customers. See the spend or income over a specific period of time, across entities and mappings.

What this article covers

The Relations overview (Working Capital → Relations) shows your largest suppliers and customers, with the spend or income per relation over a chosen period — across entities and mappings. Use it to quickly see who your biggest customers and suppliers are, and how amounts develop over time.

How do I switch between suppliers and customers?

The overview opens filtered on Supplier. Open the Filter panel (top right) and use the Relation type drop-down to switch to Customer. Click Apply.

How do I filter the overview?

Open the Filter panel (top right). It contains:

  • Entity — narrow down to one or more entities.

  • Mapping — narrow down to specific mappings.

  • Relation type — switch between Supplier and Customer.

  • Hide IC Relations — toggle to hide intercompany relations (see below).

  • Only common entry types (Exact) — toggle that excludes uncommon entry types (see the FAQ below on ERP differences).

Click Apply to apply your selection, or Reset to clear it. Use the Search bar above the table to find a specific relation by name.

How do I hide intercompany relations from the overview?

Open the Filter panel (top right) and turn on the Hide IC Relations toggle, then click Apply. Relations that are configured as intercompany (in Setup → Admin → Intercompany relations) are then excluded — useful when you want to see external customers or suppliers only.

How do I sort the table?

Click a column name to sort the table by that column.

How do I download the table?

Two options:

  • Download icon (top right) — exports the table directly.

  • Excel Add-in — fetch the Relations data into Excel via the Finstack Excel Add-in: select report type Working Capital – Relations in the Task Pane. Useful when you want to refresh the data with one click (Fetch) instead of downloading a new file each time.

Why doesn't the customer total in Relations match my revenue in Reporting?

The customer total in Working Capital → Relations and the revenue total in Reporting are usually close, and often identical — but they can differ, and that difference has a specific cause.

The Relations overview shows amounts where a relation (customer or supplier) is attached to the underlying transaction, insofar as those amounts relate to the P&L. Reporting shows all P&L transactions on your revenue GLAs — with or without a relation attached.

Any difference between the two therefore consists of revenue transactions booked without a relation. The most common source is journal entries (memoriaalboekingen): most ERPs don't require a relation on those, and they're typically used for entries like revenue accruals (reserveringen), corrections, and period-end adjustments.

To find the difference:

  1. Go to Finance → Entries.

  2. Filter on your revenue GLAs and the period you're comparing.

  3. Look for transactions where the Relation column is empty — these are included in Reporting but not in the Relations overview.

If you want these amounts to appear in the Relations overview as well, add the relation to the entry in your ERP.

Why don't the values in Relations match my ERP administration?

If a relation shows a different total in the Relations overview than in your ERP, there are two common causes.

1. The Relations overview only shows the P&L side of a relation

The overview shows amounts insofar as they relate to the P&L (income and spend). The part of a booking that goes to the Balance Sheet — such as the debtor or creditor position, or VAT — is not included. If you're comparing against a total in your ERP that includes balance sheet amounts, the figures will differ by design.

2. The entry type filter excludes uncommon entry types

By default, the Relations overview only includes common entry types. For Exact Online administrations, this is controlled by the "Only common entry types (Exact)" toggle in the Filter panel (top right). GLAs that have the type 'Other' in Exact are excluded from the overview when this toggle is on.

To check whether this explains your difference:

  1. Open the Filter panel (top right).

  2. Turn off "Only common entry types (Exact)" and click Apply.

  3. Compare the totals again.

Note: turning this toggle off can also pull in transactions you may not want in this overview — review the result carefully.

To solve it fundamentally: correct the type of the GLA in Exact Online (under Stamgegevens), for example from 'Other' to 'Accrual'. After the change flows through with the next sync, the GLA is included in the overview automatically — with the toggle simply left on.

If the values still differ after these checks, see "Why doesn't the customer total in Relations match my revenue in Reporting?" above — amounts booked without a relation attached are the other common cause.
