The Firepush editor has a content block that allows you to easily add video content to your emails.

All you need to do is copy and paste the URL of your chosen video into the editor and it will do the rest of the hard work for you including choosing a cover image, overlaying a play icon and linking it to your chosen video content.

How it works

To add a video, you’ll first need to navigate to the content panel in your email builder. Once you’re there, you’ll find a video button. Simply click and drag it into your email template to get started.

At this point, you’ll be prompted to provide a URL for your video. Currently, the Firepush Editor only supports videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Once you’ve entered the URL, the content block will display a cover image with an overlaid icon for the user to click. In the editing panel on the right hand side, you will be able to change the type of overlay, its color and its size.

It’s important to note that the Firepush editor will be unable to fetch a cover image from a password-protected video, or one that is hidden from Vimeo.

Notes regarding embedding a video in an email

  • The Firepush editor does not embed the video in your email, but links to it in a smart way.

  • We do this because lots of systems, including iOS, does not support embedded videos.

  • Many users open emails on mobile devices which can further deteriorate the quality of an embedded email.
