What does “claiming” mean? When do I need to claim my show?
For shows created before July 28, 2021 or after November 19, 2025, Firstory automatically submits your show to Apple Podcasts on your behalf.
From Apple’s perspective, Firstory is listed as the managing owner of the show.
To take ownership and manage it in your own Apple Podcasts Connect account, you’ll need to claim the existing show.
If you previously migrated your show to Firstory from another platform or manually submitted your show to Apple Podcasts, your show is already linked to your Apple Podcasts Connect account and you do not need to claim it.
Application Procedure
💡 If you created your show between July 28, 2021 and November 19, 2025
You must submit your show directly through Apple Podcasts Connect, and once it’s approved, it will already appear under your account.
No claiming is required.
💡 If you created your show before July 28, 2021 or after November 19, 2025
Your show might be likely automatically submitted by Firstory, so you will need to claim the existing show in Apple Podcasts Connect.
How to Claim an Existing Show
Create or sign in to your Apple Podcasts Connect account.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and, under More Actions, click Claim Existing Show.
Follow the prompts to search for your show and generate a token.
Go to the Firstory dashboard, open Multi Platforms → Apple Podcasts, click Claim, and paste the token into the claim field.
The token will be added to your show’s RSS feed.
Apple Podcasts will automatically verify it within 24 hours.
Once verified, your show will be moved into your Apple Podcasts Connect account.
Once you click “Done” in the lower-right corner after submitting your claim request in Apple Podcasts Connect, the application window will close immediately. Apple does not provide a place to view the claim request history, and Firstory is also unable to check the claim status on your behalf.
However, as long as you completed the earlier steps correctly, the show ownership will still be successfully transferred to your Apple Podcasts Connect account.
Important Things to Note:
An error might occur if you have applied for an Apple ID through Apple's website. We recommend you use iTunes on an Apple or Windows device to register.
Set your account's "payment method" in order to complete your account registration.
If you are an Android device user, you may download and register through Apple Music.
