We’re always looking for ways to make fitness in VR feel more rewarding—and connected to the tools you already use. One of the most requested integrations from our community has been support for Apple Watch during gameplay. While direct Apple HealthKit integration isn’t available on Meta Quest (yet), we’ve outlined a simple and effective method to help players track their VR workouts with Apple Watch—and get credit where it’s due.
📲 How to Track a VR Workout with Apple Watch
1️⃣ Start a Workout Manually
On your Apple Watch, open the Workout app and scroll to find Fitness Gaming.
2️⃣ Begin the Workout Before Launching Your Game
Start tracking your workout before putting on your headset. This ensures your heart rate and active calories are counted for the full session.
3️⃣ Play as Usual in VR
With the workout running in the background, your Apple Watch will continue to track movement and heart rate even while you're in-headset.
4️⃣ End the Workout When You Finish Your Session
Remove your headset and manually end the workout in the Apple Watch app. Your data will automatically sync with Apple Health and Fitness.
Let’s be real—the fact that we can game our way to a sweat and track it on our wrist? Well... it’s about time.
