You don't need to set one up, but we will assign one to your Ghost by default.

Two notes here:

  • If you're unsure what we mean by Ghost, we've written a quick article here to explain.

  • Meta Avatars are only available to users on Quest 2 and Quest Pro. If you're using an older Quest device, or a Pico headset, you won't have access to this feature.

So my Ghost will be given an Avatar now?

That's right! You don't need to set up your own Avatar, but if you don't then your Ghost will be assigned a random one for other players to see (the allocated one will be of the same Gender that you've chosen on your Profile).

This is to make sure the player experience in classes moving forward is consistent - and it also helps us make sure performance is stable.
