BoxVR was our original, boxing-inspired fitness platform.

BoxVR is a boxing-inspired VR fitness app featuring vibrant graphics and uplifting music. Every aspect of the game was designed to help you focus completely and perform at your best.

Whatever your fitness level, you could put on a VR headset and immerse yourself in BoxVR’s high-intensity routines, choreographed by professional trainers.

Can I still buy BoxVR?

BoxVR is no longer in development, meaning that it does not receive updates anymore. However, it is still available for Meta Rift, Steam and PSVR and can be purchased via the PlayStation and Steam stores.

So why isn't it in development any more?

BoxVR as a platform became unstable as time went on, making it more and more difficult to maintain while also dedicating time to improvements and updates. In 2020 we decided that updating the platform to what is now FitXR was the best way to progress and grow.

Our original plan was to release FitXR on the Quest platform initially, and then develop and release the Steam and Playstation versions shortly after. However, each platform presented it's own problems:

  • For PSVR, the current generation of hardware simply couldn't keep up with the developments we were making with FitXR. Our primary goal is a truly great fitness and workout experience, and that just wouldn't be possible with the limitations of PSVR1.

  • With SteamVR, hardware isn't really a problem - but staffing resources were. We have a lot of big ambitions for FitXR, and to make sure those are fulfilled we need to dedicate as much resource to the current platform as we can.

Will FitXR ever be available on devices other than the Quest?

Absolutely! With more companies entering the VR marketplace, we're focused on bringing immersive fitness to as many users as possible. Nothing we can share right now, but it's definitely in the works.
