Why aren't my custom songs processing correctly?
Why aren't my custom songs processing correctly?
Updated over 2 years ago

This guide is only for BoxVR played through Steam, it is not a feature supported on any other platform.

If the custom tracks you've added keep appearing as processing, or if you enter a workout using custom tracks and find that the cues don't appear, then it's likely you're experiencing the issue below.

The BoxVR software is no longer in active development, which means that we're unable to change the code on our side to correct this issue. However, our community helped in identifying the problem here - and a workaround:

This problem is caused when the song processor used in BoxVR changes the decimal separator depending on the language set on your PC (not the language set within BoxVR).

  • To clarify, the decimal separator that will successfully complete processing is: '.'

  • The decimal separator that will cause never-ending processing is this: ','

Since changing this will depend on your language set in your PC settings, please refer to this wiki or this map to find out if you are affected. If you are affected please try one of the following solutions:

Solution 1 - Change the PC language

  1. Click Start and type Language settings

  2. Add English US or UK and set as default

  3. Click start and type Region Settings

  4. Change language format to English US or UK

  5. On the right corner, select Related settings - Additional date, time and regional settings

  6. Select Region - Change date, time or number formats

  7. Select Additional settings

  8. Make sure the Decimal symbol is a dot

  9. Remove any custom tracks you previously added to BoxVR and re-add these to the game.

Solution 2 - Reinstall Box VR & Delete local files

a. Uninstall Box VR

  1. Open Steam

  2. Right click on BoxVR and select Properties

  3. Select Local files and choose Uninstall

b. Deleting local files

  1. Go to C:\Users\your_username\AppData\LocalLow

  2. Delete the ‘FITXR’ folder

  3. Click Start and type Language Settings

  4. Change language to English US or UK

  5. On the right corner, select Related settings - Additional date, time and regional settings

  6. Select Region - Change date, time or number formats

  7. Select Additional settings

  8. Make sure the Decimal symbol is a dot

All these changes require a PC restart. Once that is done you can login to Steam and reinstall Box VR.
