How to enable Google Authentication

A quick guide to enable Google Authentication for your Flamelink project.

To use Google Authentication for your project on Flamelink, you will need to complete the following steps.

  1. Enable Google as a Sign-in Provider

  2. Authorize Flamelink to allow Google Sign-in

  3. Enable Google Sign-in for your project on Flamelink

Step 1 - Enable Google as a Sign-in Provider

Follow the steps below to enable Google Sign-in for your Firebase project within the Firebase console

  1. Once you have selected your project from the Firebase console dashboard, select "Authentication" from the menu

  2. Select the "Sign-in method" tab

  3. Select the "Add new provider" button

  4. Click on "Google" under the Sign-in providers

  5. Toggle "Enable" 

  6. Select a "Project Support Email"

  7. Select "Save"

Once you have completed the steps above, continue with the steps below in order the Authorise Flamelink for your project.

  1. Select "Settings" tab from the top navigation

  2. Select "Authorised domains"

  3. Select "Add domain"

  4. Enter "flamelink.io" 

  5. Select "Add"

Almost there! Let's enable Google Sign-in for your project within Flamelink.
You will need to be logged into Flamelink and you will need to be an owner of the project that you  want to update.

  1. Select the context menu for your project

  2. Select "Manage Project"

  3. Under the "Authentication Providers" section, select the checkbox for "Google Authentication" 

  4. Select "Update"

 🎉That's it, no more remembering passwords, now you can log into your project using Google.
