📦 Understanding the Packing List
Once your proforma is ready, you can start creating your Packing List. This document helps organize your shipment clearly and professionally.
The Packing List interface includes:
Header: Contains automatically populated company details from Office settings, but can be customized per document.
Table: Lists articles from your segment specification and additional shipping-specific fields.
Footer: Provides summary and explanatory notes related to the shipment.
📑 Filling Out the Packing List Header
Company details (name, address, VAT number) automatically appear from your Office settings and can be changed as needed for this document.
Packing List number and creation date are auto-generated but editable if necessary.
Clearly specify shipping locations in "Ship From" and "Ship To" fields.
📋 Working with the Packing List Table
The table lists all articles from the segment specification. Additional fields include:
Package #: Assign numbers to packages for tracking.
HS Code: Enter the Harmonized System code for international shipping.
Qty: Indicate how many items are included in each package.
Dimensions: Specify the dimensions of each package. Dimensions entered are automatically calculated to determine the volume in cubic meters.
Weight: Enter the package’s weight.
Package Type: Specify the type of packaging.
Adding and Modifying Rows
Insert blank rows for additional packaging requirements.
Split rows if you have multiple items to ship separately (e.g., 6 chairs packed into boxes of 2 chairs each). Splitting automatically creates new package entries.
📊 Packing List Footer
The footer provides a comprehensive summary of the shipment details:
Total number of packages and items.
Overall gross and net weight, and total volume.
Explanatory notes related to the delivery (e.g., delivery basis, liability).
