Two-Factor Authentication

What is two-factor authentication and how do I set it up?

Updated over 2 years ago

Fleetpin supports and encourages two-factor authentication. In this article you can learn more about what two-factor authentication is and how to set it up in your Fleetpin account.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a security measure that allows you to verify your identity when logging into applications (such as Fleetpin) by using more than one sign-in method (think of it as being another 'key') to help secure your Fleetpin account. Essentially, with your normal access credentials and the two-factor authentication in place, it is more difficult for somebody else to access your account and the sensitive information in there.

Is two-factor authentication mandatory?

Enabling two-factor authentication is completely optional, depending on your how secure you wish your account to be or, what your business's security policies and requirements are. However, it is Fleetpin's recommendation that two-factor authentication is utilised.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Enabling two-factor authentication involves a few quick steps in Fleetpin along with ensuring you have access to a third-party two-factor authentication app (or using one you may already have).

Watch the video below to follow the step by step instructions in Fleetpin.

Once you have enabled two-factor authentication in Fleetpin, you will be asked to enter a unique code each time you login. This code is produced by the two-factor authentication app that you have dowloaded on your device or browser.

Tip! Two-factor authentication apps can be easily downloaded from the App/Google Play Store. We recommend downloading an authenticator app that supports both web browsers and mobile devices. See our recommendations below:
