Absolutely! Focus Lock is safe to use as it requires a verified MDM (Mobile Device Management) Profile from Apple.

What is an MDM Profile?

Apple's Mobile Device Management feature seems a lot more intense than it actually is. With the Focus Lock MDM Profile, we're harnessing Apple's existing technology to hide all of your downloaded apps on a schedule, and then to return them after a certain period of time. That's it — the MDM Profile does not let us see or control anything on your phone, ever. And if you don't want to install the MDM Profile, you don't have to.

How does it work?

When you start a Focus Lock session with the MDM Profile installed, the app works by hiding all of your downloaded apps for the time you selected. As long as you have a good internet connection, your apps will return at the end of the session. If you don't have a good internet connection and your apps don't return, uninstall the MDM Profile.

Can I keep specific apps on my phone?

Apple's MDM feature only allows Focus Lock to hide all of your downloaded apps. Apple's own default apps, such as Phone, iMessage, Clock, and others remain accessible during a Focus Lock session. This is a good thing for safety reasons in case you need emergency access to your phone.

What else you should know

Focus Lock won't drain your battery, it doesn't track what you do on your phone, and it doesn't sit in the background while you're doing something else. We also stand by our privacy policy, which you can read all about here.
