What happens if I upload a photo without internet?

If you upload a photo while offline or with poor connectivity, Flippd queues it locally and syncs it automatically when your connection is restored.

How It Works

  1. You add or update a photo on an inventory item

  2. If the upload fails due to connectivity issues, the photo is saved to a local queue

  3. When your internet connection is restored, Flippd automatically uploads the photo in the background

  4. Once the upload completes, the item is updated with the new photo

Pending Upload Indicator

Items with photos waiting to sync show a status badge so you can see at a glance which items have pending uploads.

Retry Behavior

  • Failed uploads retry automatically, up to 10 times

  • You can also manually retry a pending upload from the item detail screen

  • If all automatic retries fail, the photo remains in the queue for manual retry

Good to Know

  • Up to 50 pending uploads can be stored at a time

  • The upload queue survives app restarts -- your photos won't be lost if you close the app

  • If you upload a new photo for an item that already has a pending upload, the new photo replaces the pending one

  • Uploads resume automatically when connectivity improves -- no action needed from you
