Once your Smart Water Shutoff is installed, you can prevent damage directly from the Flo by Moen App, anywhere in the world. Not able to get to your phone? Our system is smart enough to automatically turn off your water and protect your home.

Automatic Shut-Off

If a pipe bursts in your home, your Smart Water Shutoff will recognize that unusual water activity and send you a critical alert. You can then respond by shutting off your water using the app on your smartphone. If for some reason you’re away from your phone and don’t respond to the alert, your Shutoff will proactively shut your water off for you, preventing catastrophic water damage in your home. 

And if say, you’re away from home and remember that you forgot to shut the hose off in the backyard, you can also remotely shut off your water using your mobile app. 

Manual Shutoff

The manual shutoff is meant for emergencies only. In the event you are unable to use the Flo by Moen app to turn your water on or off, you may use the green knob on your Smart Water Shutoff. Using the supplied hex key, insert it into the hex cutout on the knob, push down all the way, and turn for one quarter turn (clockwise or counterclockwise) to the open or closed position. The valve status light will indicate a solid green LED when it is in the open position, and solid red when it is in the closed position. The knob must be completely pressed down before turning. Failing to do so risks permanent damage to the Smart Water Shutoff.
