Although the pandemic is behind us, COVID-19 is still a risk for the most vulnerable and should be taken seriously. We'll do our best to let you know about any suspected cases at our care organisations before your shift, but sometimes this isn't possible.
Here's what to do if you arrive for a shift and are told there's a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus:
• Speak with the home manager, deputy manager or nurse in charge, to get an understanding of the situation and their expectations of you.
• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Avoid close contact with anyone with symptoms, if possible.
• Follow all infection control measures, including regular hand washing and changing into and out of your uniform when arriving and leaving your shift.
• Take regular breaks and stay hydrated.
Please get in touch with your account manager after the shift and let them know what happened. This will help us to track cases and keep you safe.
If you decide that you're not comfortable working the shift
We understand. Please let us know as soon as possible on 0203 911 2555 or on live chat so we can find a replacement.
