Why has my NMC number been rejected?

If you're applying to join Florence as a nurse, we'll need your 8-digit NMC PIN so we can check your registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

If your NMC PIN has been rejected, this could be because:

• Your PIN is one letter or one number wrong. Ls and Is, Ss and 5s, and Os and 0s sometimes get mixed up. You can check if your PIN is correct by searching the register on the NMC website (https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/search-the-register/).
• You've had your PIN for less than a year. You'll need at least one year of nursing experience to work with Florence. If you qualified overseas and worked as a nurse in another country, find out what to do here (https://help.florence.co.uk/en/articles/6161737-i-qualified-as-a-nurse-abroad-can-i-still-work-as-a-nurse-for-florence).
• There’s a referral, suspension order or restriction on your practice. If we need further information, our compliance team will be in touch. Find out what to do if you have an NMC referral here (https://help.florence.co.uk/en/articles/6161802-i-have-a-current-nmc-referral-can-i-still-work-with-florence).
