Welcome to Flowhub Ecommerce! This guide walks you through setting up your ecommerce store, customizing your menu, and troubleshooting common issues.
What You’ll Need Before You Start
Before diving in, make sure you have the following:
A Flowhub account with Ecommerce enabled
Internet connection and browser access (we recommend Chrome)
Product data synced and inventory available in Flowhub
Access to your store’s brand assets (logo, colors, etc.)
Getting Started
To launch your customized ecommerce store, follow these steps:
Assign Ecommerce Permissions – Give the Ecommerce role to employees who need to manage the online store.
Select Inventory Rooms – Choose which rooms will display inventory on your ecommerce menu.
Set Ordering Hours – Define when customers can place online orders.
Upload Your Logo – Add branding to your ecommerce storefront.
Customize your menu – Adjust theming, banners, carousels, and deal visibility.
Step 1: Assign Ecommerce Permissions
Who needs this permission?
Anyone managing your ecommerce menu needs the Ecomm role in Flowhub Maui.
How to Assign the Ecomm Role:
Go to Roles & Permissions in Flowhub Maui.
Assign the Ecomm permission to the necessary employees.
Once assigned, the Ecomm tab will appear in their left-hand navigation.
Step 2: Select Inventory Rooms
How Inventory Works in Ecommerce
Inventory on your ecommerce site is directly tied to rooms in Flowhub.
You must select rooms that will display products on your menu.
How to Enable Ecommerce Inventory:
Navigate to Rooms in Flowhub.
Select the option "Inventory Appears in Flowhub Menus."
Save your changes—your products will now sync to your ecommerce store.
Step 3: Set Ordering Hours
Your menu will be view-only until you enable ordering hours.
How to Set Ordering Hours:
Go to Ecomm > Ordering > Ordering Hours in the Flowhub back office.
Set the hours when your store will accept online orders.
Click Save.
Example: If your store accepts orders from 9 AM - 5 PM (Monday - Saturday) and 12 PM - 5 PM (Sunday), enter these hours in the settings.
Customers can place orders after hours. However, this order will show up for fulfillment the next day.
Step 4: Customize Your Ecommerce Store
Branding & Theming
Style & Color: Customize menu colors using HEX, RGB, or predefined themes.
Logo Upload: Recommended sizes: 500x500px or 800x600px (PNG or JPG).
Order Completion Message: Customize the message displayed after a customer places an order.
Carousels (Optional)
Carousels are interactive scrolling product lists that highlight featured inventory.
How to Set Up Carousels:
Go to Ecomm > Customize > Carousels.
Check “Enable Carousel View.”
Click NEW CAROUSEL and give it a descriptive name (e.g., “Best-Selling Indicas”).
Apply filters for brand, category, species, terpenes, or type.
Choose a sorting method (Alphabetical, Price, Best-Selling).
Save changes—your carousel is now live!
Rearrange Carousels:
Drag and drop carousels to reorder them on your menu.
Click the trash icon to remove unwanted carousels.
Banners (Optional)
Banners allow you to promote deals or highlight specific products.
Banner Requirements:
Full-width: 2560x300px | Half-width: 1274x300px
File types: PNG, JPG
How to Set Up Banners:
Go to Ecomm > Customize > Banner.
Click NEW BANNER and upload your image.
Select which products will appear when a customer clicks the banner.
Drag and drop banners to adjust their order.
Save changes.
Categories (Optional)
Categories help organize your menu into easy-to-browse product sections, like Flower, Edibles, or Vapes.
How to Customize Categories:
Go to Ecomm > Customize > Categories.
Upload custom icons to match your brand.
Rename default categories or hide the ones you don’t use.
Drag and drop categories to change their display order.
Click Save—your updated categories will appear instantly on your menu.
Rearrange Categories:
Use the drag handles to change the order in which categories appear.
Click the eye icon to hide or unhide a category from the menu.
Click the trash icon to remove a custom category completely.
Step 5: Menu Walkthrough & Customer Experience
Home Page
Customers can toggle between Medical & Recreational menus (if applicable).
The search bar, filters, and sorting options allow for easy navigation.
Banners & Carousels display based on your setup.
Deals in Ecommerce
Mark “Promote deal on product detail page” in the deals form to highlight discounts.
All deals apply automatically at checkout, even if they are not displayed.
Cart & Checkout
Customers can check out as a guest or log in.
Orders automatically sync to Flowhub’s Order Ahead system.
Future updates will allow customers to see past purchases and redeem loyalty points.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
1. My inventory isn’t displaying.
✔ Ensure you’ve selected the correct rooms under Rooms > Inventory.
✔ Confirm that the products have available stock.
✔ Wait 5-10 minutes for updates to sync.
2. Customers can’t place an order.
✔ Make sure Ordering Hours are set under Ecomm > Ordering.
✔ Check for system maintenance alerts in Flowhub.
3. The colors or logo aren’t updating.
✔ Try refreshing your ecommerce site.
✔ Ensure your logo follows the recommended file size guidelines.
4. My banners aren’t displaying correctly.
✔ Check that your banner image is in the correct PNG or JPG format.
✔ Verify the dimensions (2560x300px for full width, 1274x300px for half width).
