Setting up Agent triggers

How to configure automatic events that start an Agent workflow without a user initiating it.

Triggers let the Agent run automatically — on a schedule, when a new record appears in your ERP, or when an external event fires. No one needs to manually start a conversation.

Where to find triggers

  1. Go to Manage Team > Agents and open the Agent

  2. Go to the Capabilities tab

  3. Find the Triggers section

Trigger types

  • Scheduled (cron) — runs the Agent on a recurring schedule (e.g., every hour, every morning at 8am). Useful for batch processing or polling an ERP for new records.

  • Epicor triggers — fire when specific events happen in your Epicor instance

  • SugarCRM triggers — fire when specific events happen in SugarCRM

  • Fluent triggers — fire based on internal Fluent events

Adding a trigger

  1. In the Triggers section, click Add trigger

  2. Select the trigger type from the list

  3. A side panel opens — fill in the trigger's parameters (schedule, event type, filters, etc.)

  4. Save the trigger

The trigger is now active and will start the Agent automatically each time it fires.

Removing a trigger

Click the edit icon on the trigger and delete it from the side panel. Removing a trigger stops future automatic runs — it doesn't affect runs already in progress.

Note: The Agent must be saved at least once before triggers can be added or edited.
