The Qolsys IQ Panel 4 offers enhanced security features by allowing camera images to be uploaded during specific alarm events or local disarms. These captured images are conveniently stored in the Images event gallery, accessible via the Customer Website or App. For detailed guidance on accessing this gallery, please refer to "View the Images Event Gallery and Past Events."
Understanding the Difference:
The functionality of the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 differs from the Alarm.com Image Sensor. When alarm image uploads are enabled for the IQ Panel 4, an image is captured whenever the panel enters an alarm state. In contrast, the Alarm.com Image Sensor only captures images upon detecting motion.
Requirements for Image Uploads:
Wi-Fi Connection: Depending on your service package, a Wi-Fi connection might be necessary. Check your service package details for more information.
Dual-Path Communication: Ensure your account is set up for Dual-Path communication.
Service Package Requirements:
- For both alarm and disarm image captures: Require 'Images - Limited' or 'Images - Plus' service packages.
- For alarm image captures only: 'Images - Alarms' must be included in your service package.
- For detailed information about service packages, see "What image captures are included in each Images service package?"
Note: Images uploaded during alarms and disarms are counted towards your account's monthly upload limit.
Additional Compatibility Considerations:
Qolsys IQ Remote Secondary Keypads: These can also send images to Alarm.com.
Video Capture Capability: Apart from images, Qolsys IQ Panel 4 panels can capture videos during alarms. For setting up video recording rules, refer to "Configure a video recording rule for the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 camera."
System Health Check: If enabled, the panel camera will take daily photos, stored on the panel and not uploaded to Alarm.com.
Configuring Panel Camera Images:
Log into the Customer Website.
Click on "Automation."
Select "Rules" if not already chosen.
To enable or disable panel camera disarm and/or alarm images, use the toggle switch for the automation rules labelled "Panel Camera Alarm Image Uploads" and/or "Panel Camera Disarm Image Uploads."
Important Note: If these options are not visible on the Customer Website, ensure that Disarm Photos and Alarm Photos are activated in the panel's programming. Access this via Installation > Camera Settings on the panel.
Example Configuration:
In the provided example, alarm image uploads are activated while disarming image uploads are deactivated.
Setting Up Recipient Notifications:
Click "Edit" for the desired automation rule.
In "Recipients," select "Add."
Choose recipients from the Address Book dropdown. If the recipient is not listed, select "New" to add a new address.
After selecting the recipients, click "Close."
Finally, click "Save" to apply the changes.
