Editing a Slide in Fluent

You can edit any slide in Fluent; imported slides, slides built from scratch, or those in existing reports. Select the slide, adjust text, charts, metrics, data queries, elements, or regenerate using AI.

  2. The slide will display a black outline when selected.

  3. Once selected, you can edit the slide natively within Fluent.

Step 2: Edit Text and Content Elements Directly

    • Update the chart’s colour scheme

Step 3: Add or Remove Elements on the Slide

  1. To add elements, click the Plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the editor.

  2. Choose from available element types (text box, metric card, chart, table, callout, image).

  3. Fluent will add new elements where space is available on the slide.

  4. To remove elements, hover over an element and click the Delete / Trash icon in the top-right of that element.

  5. You can also instruct Fluent, via AI, to add or remove elements.

Step 4: Edit Slide Data

  1. You can update the data powering a slide by modifying its data queries.

  2. Select the slide, then open the Slide Data panel (stacked blocks icon).

  3. Edit existing data queries or add new ones using Fluent’s standard data query builder.

  4. If you adjust the data or instructions in this panel, click Save before closing.

Step 5: Add or Edit Slide-Level Instructions

  1. Slides can include slide-level instructions that provide context or guidance to Fluent.

  2. Use this to specify commentary style, chart preferences, or the visual elements you want included or removed.

  3. After making changes, click Save and exit the panel.

Step 6: Regenerate the Slide Using AI

  1. To regenerate the slide without instructions, click the Magic Wand icon in the slide tray.

  2. To regenerate with instructions, click the Speech Bubble icon and type the guidance you want Fluent to follow.

  3. Examples of instructions include:

    • Rewrite commentary

    • Change the chart type

    • Add a text box, metric card, chart, callout

    • Remove specific elements

  4. Fluent will update the slide based on your instructions and current data.

Step 7: Continue Editing After Regeneration

  1. After regenerating, you can continue adjusting elements, moving, resizing, or deleting as needed.

  2. You can repeat regeneration or manual edits until the slide is finalised.
