Adding Slide-Level Instructions in Fluent

Slide-level instructions let you give Fluent specific context for an individual slide, such as client nuances, KPI notes, or factors affecting performance. Add instructions via the Slide Data panel, save them & regenerate the slide to apply the context.

Step 1: Select the Slide You Want to Add Context To

  1. Click the slide you want to update.

  2. Confirm the slide is selected by checking for the black outline.

  3. This ensures any instructions you add apply to the correct slide.

Step 2: Open the Slide Data Panel

  1. With the slide selected, open the Slide Data panel from the slide tray.

  2. This is the same panel used for managing data queries.

  3. Slide-level instructions sit beneath the data query section.

Step 3: Add Slide-Level Instructions

  1. In the Slide Data panel, scroll to the Instructions box below the data queries.

  2. Add any context you want Fluent to consider when generating or regenerating the slide.

  3. Examples include:

    • Client-specific KPI definitions

    • Notes about recent promotions or sales

    • Events that impacted performance

    • Platform changes or tracking anomalies

  4. Format the instructions clearly.

    • Bullet points are the recommended style

    • Keep statements short, unambiguous, and easy for Fluent to interpret

  5. You can add as much detail as you need.

Step 4: Save and Regenerate the Slide

  1. Once your instructions are complete, click Save.

  2. Regenerate the slide to apply the context:

    • Use the Regenerate icon for automatic updates, or

    • Use Regenerate with Instructions if you also want to add guidance during regeneration.

  3. Fluent will rebuild the slide using both the data queries and your slide-level context.

Step 5: Repeat for Additional Slides

  1. You can add slide-level instructions to any number of slides in a deck.

  2. Simply repeat the process for each slide that requires specific context or clarification.
