The FluidFlow License Manager (FluidFlow3LM.EXE) is a standalone Windows application used for managing your FluidFlow license, including activation, deactivation, and module transfers.
1 – Location and Installation
Installed as part of the standard FluidFlow installation (
FF3SETUP.EXE)Default installation path:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Flite\\FluidFlow3
File size: ~15 MB
The latest version of the License Manager can be downloaded from the FluidFlow Customer Portal and can be used with any version of FluidFlow.
2 – Purpose
The License Manager is used to:
Activate your FluidFlow license
Deactivate your FluidFlow license
Transfer (export/import) modules between licenses
It does not:
Interact with FlexLM or any third-party license server
Run constantly in the background
Act as a service or be called by other software
3 – How It Works
Creates a license file is created based on the Hard Disk Serial Number of the machine it’s activated on
FluidFlow3 looks for the license file, not the License Manager itself, when running
Activation communicates with the FluidFlow Customer Portal:
arduino CopyEdit <https://portal.fluidflowinfo.com>
No special ports are required—your firewall just needs to allow outbound access to the portal
Activation is typically required only once after installation
4 – Firewall & Network Notes
Once activation is complete, you can remove
portal.fluidflowinfo.comfrom your firewall exceptions if desiredThe License Manager does not need to run continuously on a server for FluidFlow3 to function
5 – When to Re-Activate
You do not need to re-activate FluidFlow3 when upgrading to a later version.
Re-activation is only necessary if:
The licensed modules change (e.g., adding a Gas or Liquid module)
You move the license to another computer
You transfer the license between installations
