Media Inspector

Compare multiple media files side by side without leaving your workflow

Media Inspector helps you compare multiple media files side by side without leaving your workflow.

Whether you're reviewing AI-generated variations, comparing outputs from different models, or choosing a final asset, Media Inspector makes it easier to spot differences and make decisions faster.

What is Media Inspector?

Media Inspector allows you to compare multiple media items in a single view.

Instead of opening files one at a time and relying on memory, you can review selected images side by side and evaluate them together.

This is especially useful when:

  • Comparing outputs from different AI models

  • Reviewing multiple prompt variations

  • Selecting the best version from several generations

  • Checking branding, text placement, or design changes

  • Making final creative approvals

How to use Media Inspector

Step 1: Select media on the canvas

On the canvas, hold Command (⌘) on Mac or Ctrl on Windows and click the media items you want to compare.

You can select multiple media nodes at the same time.

Once selected, the media selection tray will appear showing the number of selected items.

Step 2: Open Media Inspector

Click the Compare Media icon in the media selection tray.

Media Inspector will open and display your selected media files side by side.

Step 3: Compare your media

Review your selected files together to identify:

  • Visual differences

  • Model output variations

  • Design changes

  • Branding updates

  • Text placement and readability

  • Overall quality and composition

Having everything visible in one place makes comparisons much faster than switching between individual previews.

Step 4: View file details

Click Show Details to view metadata for each file.

Available information may include:

  • Resolution

  • File format

  • Dimensions

  • Color mode

  • File size

  • Date created

  • Date modified

This helps when comparing outputs that may look similar but have different technical properties.

Step 5: Narrow down your selection

As you review media, you can remove files from the comparison view and continue evaluating the remaining options.

This makes it easy to progressively narrow down choices until you've identified the best version.

Tips for better comparisons

  • Compare outputs from different models side by side

  • Review multiple prompt variations together

  • Check final assets before sharing or publishing

  • Use file details when image quality or format matters

  • Compare several versions at once instead of opening files individually

Why use Media Inspector?

When you're generating multiple versions of an image, the hardest part is often deciding which one is best.

Media Inspector keeps your options in front of you, helping you:

  • Compare faster

  • Spot differences more easily

  • Review outputs without switching views

  • Make decisions with greater confidence

Summary

Media Inspector brings multiple media files into a single comparison view, making it easier to review variations, evaluate outputs, and choose the best result.

From creative reviews to final selections, it helps you keep the details that matter right in front of you.
