At this time, FluoroFinder version 3.0 does not support swappable filters. We are looking to add this capability back into the panel builder very soon.

Regarding only FluoroFinder version 2.0:

Does your lab have a box of extra filters that you occasionally swap into your cytometer configuration? If so, get them entered into FluoroFinder and easily select between filter options depending the needs of your specific experiment.

The first step is to send a list of your extra BP filters to Support@FluoroFinder.com. For each filter we will need to know what positions on the instrument you want to be able to swap them into and if you also swap any associated mirrors or SP/LP filters. Lastly, give us an example of a color you like to detect with each swappable filter. Any way you want to get us this information is fine but here is an example of what it might look like:

Once we get the information into FluoroFinder these swappable filters will be added as a supplement to the base configuration for that instrument. You can see them by clicking the "Swappable Filters" button toward the upper right corner of the Cytometer page for that instrument.

To make a temporary change to the instrument configuration simply select the filter you want to swap in.

If there are multiple locations where this filter can be used select which location you want it to be placed.

Click "Swap" and you are all done! Your new filter will now be shown in the configuration but only for this single experiment. It will be shown with a small icon to indicate that a temporary change has been made to the configuration.

Swapping a filter like this will not affect the base configuration, so the next time you or any other researcher selects this instrument the base configuration will still be the default. To make a permanent change to the base configuration contact your core manager or send the new base configuration to Support@FluoroFinder.com.

A note of caution: don't forget to actually swap the physical filter in your instrument before running your experiment. Most importantly, keep your core manager and fellow researchers happy by remembering to physically change the filters on the instrument back to the base configuration when you are done!
