Keyword and Targeting Actions

The Keyword and Targeting Actions page is available to all Teikametrics customers— offering a smarter, faster way to grow ad sales, cut wasted spend, and streamline how you manage keyword and product targeting optimization across Amazon and Walmart.

This powerful tool brings together AI Smart Filters, Custom Filters, full automation, and a History view, giving you complete control and visibility over your targeting actions.


🔍 Overview

The Keyword and Targeting Actions page centralizes all your keyword and product targeting decisions—whether you're adding high-potential keywords, PAT targets (Product Attribute Targets), or negating poor performers.

It’s built to save time, save money, and drive sales by leveraging Teikametrics' AI to surface the most impactful recommendations, customized to your business.


🤖 AI Smart Filters

AI Smart Filters are at the core of this feature. These filters are:

  • Automatically generated by Teikametrics' AI

  • Customized to your account, your ad types, and your targeting goals

  • Refreshed weekly based on campaign performance and keyword trends

These filters will dynamically show you new keywords to add, PAT targets to consider, or keywords to negate—segmented by Sponsored Products or Sponsored Brands.

From each filter, you can:

  • Accept all recommendations in bulk

  • Review each item individually

  • Snooze recommendations for 7 days

  • Dismiss permanently

AI Smart Filters can now also be automated, allowing you to skip manual reviews entirely. Automation means faster action—and more consistent optimization.


🛠 Custom Filters

Custom Filters let you define your own targeting rules, built around your specific goals. You can:

  • Name and save filters

  • Choose "Review" or "Automatic" mode

  • Select ad types and targeting types (e.g., keyword to add, PAT to add, keyword to negate)

  • Set targeting intent: Brand, Competitor, Generic, or All

  • Define performance-based criteria (e.g., ACOS ≤ 50%, Conversions ≥ 2)

  • Apply filters to specific ad groups

Once created, Custom Filters continuously scan for matching recommendations and update daily. These filters can be automated as well to save you time and remove the manual effort.


🧠 AI Value: See the Impact

At the top of the page, you'll see a summary of how AI has impacted your performance:

  • Number of Actions Taken: keyword and targets added and keywords negated

  • Attributed Ad Sales from keywords and targets you’ve accepted

  • Estimated Ad Spend Saved from negated keywords

  • Hours Saved by using AI—both for automated and reviewed actions

This provides a clear ROI on using Teikametrics' AI-driven targeting workflow.


🔁 Automation

With full automation now available, you can turn both AI Smart Filters and Custom Filters into daily auto-optimization engines. When automation is enabled:

  • AI evaluates your campaigns daily

  • Any matching targets are automatically added or negated

  • Targets are routed to the correct ad group based on your Brand, Competitor, and Generic classifications

To automate filters simply click into Create & Manage filters. Here you can automate all of your AI Smart Filters or any individual custom filter.

This is the fastest way to scale your targeting improvements with confidence.


🏷 Brand and Competitor Classification

To power AI decision-making and ensure proper ad group routing, it’s essential to input your:

  • Brand terms

  • Competitor terms

These are managed within the feature or in Recommendations Hub and are required for the system to classify recommendations as Brand, Competitor, or Generic.

If this information is missing, you will notice that your merchant will be blocked from taking action until these inputs are gathered. Clicking fix issue will allow you take quick action. Once the terms are input AI will analyze the data and resurface recommendations within 24 hours.

Ad group routing tags are automatically created but can also be customized in Ads Manager. Navigate to the ad groups tab and enter edit made to modify ad group routing tags.


📅 Frequency and Refresh Logic

  • New recommendations are evaluated weekly

  • Editing your brand/competitor terms or ad group tags will trigger a 24-hour refresh

  • These updates ensure filters are always working with the most accurate data


📖 History View

The new History page gives you full visibility into every action taken via the Keyword and Targeting Actions tool:

  • Track accepted, snoozed, or dismissed recommendations

  • View by merchant, filter, ad group, or user

  • Filter by time range: 30, 60, or 90 days

  • See if actions were taken manually or automatically

Use this log to ensure collaboration, accountability, and strategic consistency across your campaigns.


⚠️ Troubleshooting & Visibility Notes

  • Merchants missing product data connections will not appear in the main table—click Fix Issues to connect the proper API's.

  • You must have at least one brand and one competitor term to enable full AI classification

  • Recommendations from before this launch will not appear in the History view, but AI Value stats will still reflect your past results
