How does Foodin incorporate social responsibility into its operations?

Updated over a month ago

Foodin is a 100% Finnish-owned family business. We directly employ approximately 60 people in our facilities in Jyväskylä, as well as a few others in different parts of Finland. We manufacture and package nearly all our products in Jyväskylä and source almost all of our packaging materials from Finland. We adhere to industry-specific collective labor agreements and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Almost our entire product range is EU organic-certified or sourced from naturally wild-grown ingredients. We prioritize organic and forest farming and actively work to promote these cultivation methods. Globally, we collaborate with partners and organizations that support small farming communities, ensuring fair working conditions, wages, and training opportunities to help sustain their livelihoods.

We also utilize geothermal heating, ground cooling, and waste heat recovery to enhance energy efficiency. Our facilities were built by a local construction company, and we have prioritized domestic and local materials, such as sourcing our furniture from a local carpenter.

We also support social equality initiatives and work with organizations that assist disadvantaged groups, such as Venner food aid and Suvimäki Clubhouse. Through TE Services (Employment Office) and insurance companies, we employ long-term unemployed individuals and offer work trial opportunities to help people re-enter the workforce.
