1. General Principle
ForMining Space provides its clients with optimized mining infrastructures designed for continuous and efficient operation. As a result, mining machines must run continuously without the possibility of pausing, except in cases of technical maintenance managed by ForMining Space or in the event of an outage (beyond our control).
2. A Long-Term Vision Activity
Cryptocurrency mining is based on an economic model that relies on regularity and stable performance. It is a long-term activity where profitability is measured over several months or even years. Short-term price fluctuations should not influence operational decisions, as they are inherent to financial and cryptocurrency markets. Continuous operation is essential to ensure optimal profitability and minimize risks associated with stopping and restarting the equipment.
3. Technical and Economic Constraints
Mining infrastructures are designed to operate without interruption, and any pause has major consequences:
Resource Optimization: Our facilities are calibrated for near-permanent operation, maximizing energy efficiency and computing power.
Contractual Commitment: ForMining Space is bound by contracts with energy providers and hosting partners, which require continuous operation.
Wear and Equipment Longevity: Mining machines (ASICs) are designed for prolonged operation. Extended pauses can compromise their lifespan and affect their performance.
Fixed Cost Management: The infrastructure incurs fixed costs (maintenance, cooling, storage) that remain payable regardless of machine status.
Complex Restart Process: A stopped machine may require specific technical procedures for restart, leading to delays and additional costs.
4. Stopping a Machine and Its Consequences
Under current conditions, stopping a mining machine is not provided for in our contract. If a client still wishes to stop their machine, this is possible but will result in the machine being scrapped. The current technical and economic constraints do not allow for an optimal recommissioning after a prolonged shutdown.
We are working on optimizing this process so that neither ForMining Space nor the client incurs losses if a machine shutdown occurs and the machine can be reconnected. If our policy changes, the client will be informed accordingly.
5. Conclusion
ForMining Space is committed to providing an optimal environment for the operation of mining machines. Continuous operation is a key condition to ensure stable and predictable profitability as well as the efficient and sustainable use of the equipment made available to clients. Any machine shutdown request is possible, but it will result in the scrapping of the machine
